With Barcelona closing in on Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas, midfielder Samir Nasri and defender Gael Clichy could be heading out of the Emirates to Manchester United and Manchester City respectively.
Full story: Daily Telegraph

Arsenal should of learned this lesson with Mathieu Flamini. If you like a player you lock them up to a new deal before the player enters the final year of their contract. Why push your into a corner by waiting?

However, Gunners manager Arsene Wenger is hoping the signing of Lille striker Gervinho – with a £12m deal close to completion – will keep Nasri in London. Full story: Daily Mirror

Cash and lots of it will convince Nasri to stay in London.

I’m sure both club and player are thrilled to have each other.

Blackburn are set to beat Sunderland to the £6.5m signing of Manchester City defender Nedum Onuoha. Rovers boss Steve Kean wants him to replace Phil Jones, who has joined Manchester United.
Full story: Daily Mail

It isn’t the worst replacement for Blackburn that’s for sure. A couple of good season with Blackburn and Onuoha could fetch them a nice profit.

Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas wants Benfica wing-back Fabio Coentrao as his first signing for the Blues but faces competition from Real Madrid. Full story: Daily Telegraph

It is curious why Real Madrid haven’t wrapped this up. Then again Marcelo has done nothing to lose his place at left back. Either way Benfica would be happy as it would mean someone should meet Coentrao release clause.

Manchester City will test Everton’s determination to keep their top stars by making a players-plus-cash offer for defender Leighton Baines. Full story: Daily Mirror

Not the first time Manchester City has picked off a player from Everton.

Sleeman Beer TV Commercial Review

Thursday, June 30th, 2011

I wish I was in the creative meeting for this campaign because I can just picture it.

Sleeman : Hey whiz kids what ideas to you have for us this year.

Creative people : Well, let’s do exactly what we did last year and mention how Sleeman past is tied into pirates and the mob to make the beer look bad ass.

Sleeman : Great thinking!

Below is last year’s ad for Sleeman

It’s exactly the same thing. The only difference is they added a Mike Bullard (Canadian last night host in the 90′s who hasn’t been heard from since 2002) look-a-like who would get his ass kicked in any speak easy. When I think of bad ass beer this portly pitchmen isn’t exactly popping up in my mind.

I Like Renee Paquette

Wednesday, June 29th, 2011

I got home last night and watched the end of raw on thescore (no USA network up here) after Raw goes off the air thescore airs this show called right after wrestling with Renee Paquette and some guy who looks like my friend Chris. I can’t stand this show cause it reminds me of reading those 80′s wrestling magazines that still acted like wrestling was real but it did remind me or something.

With that out of the way let’s focused on the host Renee Paquette. We and by that I mean me are a fan. I remember being one of the 500 people who watched her on bite tv thinking she is going to outgrow that station anytime now. Well fresh forward two years later and I think she will soon outgrow the score. She is funny, talks sports without sounding like a now it all (I believe she came from a comedy background) yet doesn’t dumb it down when talking about sports. Most of all she is hot, not super hot where you would feel like you couldn’t talk to her but the best kind of hot where you think “hey, if she is drunk I may have a chance to make out with her.”

That being said Sid Seixeiro is still my favorite person on thescore, mainly because he is Portuguese but he is also funny. Sadly I have a feeling he would be a huge prick in real life then again so am I.

My unofficial Score personality list.

1. Sid Seixeiro
2. Renee Paquette
3. Tim Micallef

Last. James Sharman

Barcelona have made an improved £34m offer for Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas and are also hoping to recruit Samir Nasri for £20m. Full story: Daily Mirror

Arsenal should spend less time trying to keep hold of players whose heart are into Arsenal and spend more time searching out replacements.

Chelsea and Manchester City are locked in a battle to sign Brazilian striker Neymar after both had bids of £40m accepted by his club Santos. Full story: Daily Star

It’s hard for any player to turn down Barcelona and Real Madrid but Chelsea would be the best fit for Neymar.

Chelsea intend to open talks with Didier Drogba aimed at extending the 33-year-old striker’s stay at Stamford Bridge after his former club Marseille suggested publicly they would be capable of putting together a deal to bring him back to France. Full story: the Guardian

Why? I’d love to see how Villa-Boas is going to make a Torres-Drogba partnership work.

But Turkish club Galatasaray are ready to bid again for Drogba in an effort to pair him with Bolton striker Johan Elmander. Full story: the Guardian

No offence to Elmander but I doubt a partnership with him will excite Drogba.

Chelsea are monitoring developments with Sergio Aguero after his advisers held talks with Atletico Madrid in an attempt to get the Argentina striker’s release clause reduced from £42m to £32m.
Full story: Daily Mail

Forget Chelsea, If Juve want to return to the European elite status they need to sign Aguero.

Full story: Daily Mirror

Do something Arsenal. Give your fans something to look forward too next season.

New Aston Villa boss Alex McLeish wants Real Madrid midfielder Sergio Canales to be his first big signing on a season-long loan. Full story: Daily Mirror

I’m sure Real Madrid is going to trust Alex McLeish to help develop a young talent like Canales.

McLeish is set to offer £4m for Manchester City keeper Shay Given. Mirror

This makes more sense.

The Scot also has his eye on Wolfsburg playmaker Diego. Full story: the Sun

Can’t fauly Aston Villa for trying to sign Diego either. At his best he would make people forget about Ashley Young.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger wants to bring in Inter Milan’s £8m-rated goalkeeper Emiliano Viviano. Full story: the Sun

Smart thinking by Wenger if he can pull this off.

Oguchi Onyewu Joins Sporting Clube de Portugal

Tuesday, June 28th, 2011

Remember last year when Onyewu was going to give up his final year of his contract with A.C Milan and play for free cause he was hurt the previous season? I didn’t think that was going to be needed and luckily for Onyewu he is right since Sporting Clube de Portugal have signed the American international.

Thanks to the power of twitter Onyewu wrote “So thrilled and excited to have just signed to Sporting Lisbon (SCP)! Great things to come. Thank you all for ur support and prayers. Bless!” I’m thrilled to have him playing in Portugal. Hopefully his knee problems are behind him because he’ll now be playing for a club who will have plans for him unlike his stay in Milan.

Hopefully I’ll get to see him when Sporting takes on Juve in Toronto this summer.

CM Punk Telling It As It Is…With WWE Permission

Tuesday, June 28th, 2011

Like many people I was a huge wrestling fan in the 80′s and 90′s but for the last 10 years ever since WCW was sold off my interest in wrestling has become less and less. I still read the wrestling observer to keep up on wrestling news but I can’t watch more than 10 minutes of Raw and Smackdown anymore without my intelligence being insulted.

For the first time in along time I’ve actually heard people talk about wrestling in the office today. What a picture perfect promo Punk gave last night. He said saying many things most people have been dying to hear about the flaws of WWE. Make no mistake about it for as edgy as it was WWE signed off on this. First off Punk didn’t mention going to TNA, he only mentioned going to New Japan or Ring of Honor. Second, nothing gets on airs without Vince McMahon giving the ok. CM Punk may believe everything he said last night but rest assured he went to Vince McMahon to get the ok before it went on air. He wouldn’t on gone 6 minutes if he was “going off script” if he did do such a thing he’d be fired and never mentioned on TV again. At best he’d be beaten in five minutes come the next PPV and given no offence.

I have no clue what CM Punk will do with his contract. My own opinion is he’ll re-sign take a couple of months off then come back but that is my guess. What am I sure of is this brilliant promo by Punk was given the ok beforehand to set up his match against John Cena. Like the way wrestling promos used to be about. Good on Punk for telling it as it is and breathing some life onto a stale company.

Mike Holmes Smartest Man In Canada

Tuesday, June 28th, 2011

Last year Reader’s Digest did a poll of the most trusted Canadian’s and Mike Holmes fnished second to David Suzuki. Who those of you who don’t know Mike Holmes he has a cable TV show called Holmes on Homes where his motto is “make it right” after shoody builders have messed up people’s homes.

Here is the breakdown of the show. These poor people who’s houses are messed up call on Mike Holmes. He did takes a tour of the house like he is the house whisper and sees all that is work and then gets angry cause it’s not in he report.

My favorite part comes next. He calls on another guy to show him everything that is wrong so that he fixes it. Genius! Mike Holmes is never to be seen for the next 30 minutes of the TV show as this guy and his crew fix all that is wrong. Of course Mike Holmes swings by at the end when it’s all finished and plays hero by showing the home owners how he has fixed their house. Mike Holmes comes in walks around tells another guy to fix it then is showered with hugs and kisses at the end. What a racket.

A side note, I realize they can’t do this for legal reason but they should say who built the home or tried to repair it. I assure you it wasn’t a Portuguese or Italian person. If you want to make it right forget Mike Holmes call Joao and the boys and in three weeks your house will be as good as new with the added bonus of a grape vine you didn’t ask for planted in the backyard.

Marseille are interested in re-signing Chelsea striker Didier Drogba – but only if the club can afford to meet the Ivorian striker’s wage demands. (La Provence newspaper) Full story: La Provence

Whatever Marseille is willing to pay Drogba someone is willing to pay more than that. Drogba would only return to Marseille if he is interested in taking a pay cut and most football players aren’t.

Birmingham reject Stoke’s £16m bid for Scott Dann and Cameron Jerome (Sky Sports News)

The way I see it Dann is worth 12 million and Jerome is worth 4 million. Poor Birmingham are going to lose a lot of players this summer or have an unhappy team come the season.

Craig Gardner is set to end his 18-month spell with Birmingham in the next 24 hours and complete a £5m move to Sunderland. (Press Association)

Good little player and great price Sunderland are paying for Gardner.

Arsenal are eyeing £15m-rated Bayer Leverkusen attacking midfielder Arturo Vidal as a possible replacement for Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri. Full story: Daily Mirror

Vidal is entering the last year of his contract and I’m sure Leverkusen would love to sell him too Arsenal instead of him going to Bayern Munich.

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp will sell four or five players in order to bring in any new signings. Full story: Metro

There is a lot of dead wood that needs to be chopped off at Tottenham.

Blackburn manager Steve Kean is considering a renewed bid for Tottenham striker Robbie Keane, having had a £2m offer rejected. Full story: Daily Telegraph

Tottenham would sell for 5 million in order to get Keane’s wages off the books.

Sunderland have agreed a £13m fee with Ipswich for striker Connor Wickham. Liverpool are still interested but must match Sunderland’s bid. Full story: Daily Mirror

I’ve been high on Connor Wickham for awhile now. When your a club like Sunderland you are going to have to overpay for talent.

Liverpool are giving up on signing Jose Enrique from Newcastle and will instead look to experienced Manchester City left-back Wayne Bridge, who was on loan at West Ham last season.
Full story: footybunker.com

Wayne Bridge to Liverpool isn’t even a funny joke.

Aston Villa are expecting midfielder Stewart Downing to hand in a transfer request but are determined to hold out for their £20m valuation of the player, who is wanted by Liverpool.
Full story: Daily Star

I wouldn’t want to play for Alex McLeish either.

Six Premier League clubs are chasing Manchester City’s James Milner – including Aston Villa, who sold him to City for £26m last summer. Full story: Daily Mirror

Aston Villa may miss Milner but I’m sure that 26 million keeps them happy at night.

Stoke have made a £3m offer for West Ham striker Carlton Cole.
Full story: Daily Mail

I’m not a big Carlton Cole but even I would say that’s too low.

Wolfsburg playmaker Diego has revealed he is in talks over a “dream” move to the Premier League. The 26-year-old is thought to be one of Liverpool’s top summer targets.
Full story: talkSPORT

I like Diego even if he was a bust at three out of his four European teams. Perfect buy low sell high player.

Liverpool keeper Pepe Reina has backed David De Gea to be a hit in the Premier League with Manchester United, and has ruled out replacing the youngster at Atletico Madrid. Full story: talkSPORT

De Gea is a perfect replacement for van der sar. Much like United signing Ashley Young this made perfect sense right from the start.

Cesc Fabregas’s days at the Emirates look to be numbered after he was left out of promotional material for the launch of Arsenal’s new away kit. Full story: Daily Mirror

Can’t leave fast enough far as I’m concerned.

Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas has interviewed candidates to be his new number two after his initial choice, Vitor Pereira, was appointed his replacement at Porto.
Full story: the Guardian

Pereira is a great choice to keep Porto’s run going.

Orianthi – According To You Review

Monday, June 27th, 2011

One of the great things I like about opening up my site is the fact I can left stuff off my chest. This song bugged me to no end last year. I’ll copy and paste the lyrics to save you from watching this video.

According to you I’m stupid, I’m useless
I can’t do anything right
According to you I’m difficult, hard to please
Forever changing my mind

I’m a mess in a dress, can’t show up on time
Even if it would save my life
According to you, according to you

But according to him I’m beautiful, incredible
He can’t get me out of his head
According to him I’m funny, irresistible
Everything he ever wanted

Everything is opposite, I don’t feel like stopping it
So baby tell me what I got to lose
He’s into me for everything I’m not
According to you

According to you I’m boring, I’m moody
And you can’t take me any place
According to you I suck at telling jokes
‘Cause I always give it away

I’m the girl with the worst attention span
You’re the boy who puts up with that
According to you, according to you

But according to him I’m beautiful, incredible
He can’t get me out of his head
According to him I’m funny, irresistible
Everything he ever wanted

Everything is opposite, I don’t feel like stopping it
So baby tell me what I got to lose
He’s into me for everything I’m not
According to you

I need to feel appreciated
Like I’m not hated, oh no
Why can’t you see me through his eyes?
It’s too bad, you’re making me dizzy

But according to me you’re stupid, you’re useless
You can’t do anything right

But according to him I’m beautiful, incredible
He can’t get me out of his head
According to him I’m funny, irresistible
Everything he ever wanted

Everything is opposite, I don’t feel like stopping it
Baby tell me what I got to lose
He’s into me for everything I’m not
According to you, you
According to you, you

According to you I’m stupid, I’m useless
I can’t do anything right

Stevie Nicks you are not. Ok, so what I gather from this song this chick is going out with two guys. At the very least she is seeing this jerk and has her eye on Mr Wonderful. My point is why is this even a debate for this chick, why doesn’t she dump the jerk and go out with Mr Wonderful? I’ll tell you why, the jerk bangs it out in bed, he rocks her world where as Mr Wonderful not so much he is average at best. So Orianthi wants her cake and eat it too. Why else in the world would she write a song to the Jerk telling him how good Mr Wonderful treats her? Cause she wants that from him but he is like “whatever you give it up anyhow.” If I was Mr Wonderful I’d dump this chick just for being stupid. After all he has done everything to treat her well and she is pining for some other guy. That’s cut right there.

Ice Cube’s Coors Light Commercial

Monday, June 27th, 2011

I remember in the summer of 1989 walking about my neighbourhood and seeing a ton of kids with these black N.W.A hats. My first reaction since I was a totally wrestling geek was hey how come so many kids are starting to like the National Wrestling Alliance. Soon after I heard straight Straight Outta Compton and my mind was blown away. Move over Public Emeny as N.W.A took over.

Fast forward to today and seeing this Ice Cube Coors light ad saddens me. Can you imagine asking Ice Cube in 1989 if he would be hawking beer 20 years later what his reaction would be? This is the same guy who was all over MC Hammer for selling out. For crying out loud Ice Cube wrote No vaseline. Does Ice Cube need the money to get next, NEXT Friday off the ground? For know if 2pac were alive he wouldn’t be doing this. St. Ides Special I have no problem with.
