Real Madrid want Liverpool to drop their valuation of Steven Gerrard as they try to finalise a move for the England midfielder. Liverpool are reluctant to sell the 30-year-old but are currently holding out for £30m. Daily Mail
With Real Madrid all but locking up Angel Di Maria it wouldn’t shock me if Steven Gerrard is the next player they make a push for.
Out-of-contract Arsenal defender Mikael Silvestre is very close to agreeing terms with UAE side Al Jazeera Abu Dhabi, who are reportedly offering the 32-year-old an annual salary of £4 million. Full story: imscouting.com
Silvestre should jump at that contract.
Birmingham City are reviving their bid to sign Fulham striker Bobby Zamora. Blues are still keen on left-back Paul Konchesky, although both players are expected to be offered new contracts by Fulham.

Two sides of a coin here. Zamora is a key player for Fulham as he became the player who Fulham figured Andrew Johnson would turn into. The other is Zamora value will never be higher and players like Bobby Zamora can be found.
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is lining up a shock bid for Manchester City defender Micah Richards, who has been starved of first-team opportunities and is rated at about £12m.
Full story: Caught Offside
Even if Sir Alex Ferguson offered 22 million for Richards, Manchester City will not sell to Manchester United. It just looks bad.
Arsenal are interested in Fiorentina midfielder Riccardo Montolivo. A World Cup starter for Italy, the 25-year-old has been compared to Emirates skipper Cesc Fabregas after five seasons at La Viola.

Montolivo isn’t even close to Fabregas. Montolivo role with Italy should be to thread the pass to the strikers up front but all he does he kick it from 30 yards out.
Aston Villa will try to persuade Martin Petrov to join them ahead of Bolton after last-ditch talks. Blackburn have also offered terms to the Bulgaria winger, who is a free agent after being released by Manchester City. Daily Mail
Always liked Petrov so it doesn’t shock me to see a lot of clubs trying to sign him up.

Liverpool are in for Petrov too (on a free of course, we’re broke!), I forgot where I read it though.
Gerrard is 50/50 right now to leave from what I hear but it’s hard to clarify until England are out.
