Portsmouth Money Woes
Read yesterday how the the Premier League had to take 7 million in TV revenue that was suppose to go to Portsmouth and instead use it to help pay off some 10 million in transfer payments Portsmouth still has outstanding.
One of those creditors owned money was Chelsea over the Glen Johnson transfer back in 2007. This got me thinking, here you have Chelsea who basically got rid of Johnson only for the player to come good at Portsmouth then sell him to Liverpool for 17 million. You see this if your Chelsea and then Portsmouth have the nerve to cry poor when it’s time to finish off the transfer payments.
What balls is the first thing which come to mind. Let’s pretend you are selling a laptop and you get rid of it to someone you work it for $500. Now this co-worker pays you $300 upfront and tells you he is good for the last $200. As you work with the guy you think it’s ok. Then you find out a couple of weeks later your co-worker friend turns around and sells the same laptop for $1000. It’s good for him that he found someone to cough up a grand for the thing but then he has the nerve to cry poor on the remaining $200 owned to you. People catch beatings for less then this. I don’t condone violence but if Roman Abramovich wishes to get one of his goons to slap around whichever Arab businessman owns Portsmouth this week can you really blame him?
