However, Vidic’s adviser Paolo Fabbri has denied quotes attributed to him in the Spanish media that the Serbian international had been tempted by an offer to join the European champions. Daily Express
Would Vidic join Barcelona? Of course he would there is not a doubt in anyone’s mind that he would. The problem for Vidic is the fact it’s too late for Manchester United to even consider selling him. Besides if Lescott is worth 20 million Barcelona would have to cough up a lot more to make United blink.

Even after Bentley’s arrest it wouldn’t shock me if Tottenham is going to want a deal akin to the Darren Bent transfer where they got most of his original transfer fee back from Sunderland. Considering Bentley cost Tottenham 18 million and Hutton 7 million can’t see Tottenham selling them for a 50% discount.

Chamakh should be pessimistic. Arsenal have all but forgotten him since their six goal outburst on the weekend. Sunderland can make do just fine with Bent and Jones up front with Campbell going off the bench and West Ham is not a step up from playing for a Champions League team in Bordeaux.

Another reason why Vidic may be interested in a move away from Manchester is of course money. If I’m Vidic and I look over and see what Rio Ferdinand makes it would annoy me. They are equals on the pitch and at worst a 1 and 1a type deal so seeing Ferdinand make more than double what Vidic does has to annoy him.
