Milan have signed the USA international from Belgian side Standard Liege, the club have announced.

Milan have completed the shock free transfer signing of Standard Liege centre back Oguchi Onyewu, the Italian giants have announced.

Nice to see Onyewu’s performance in the Confederations Cup have not gone unnoticed. Almost any team could use a defender with Onyewu size and skill set. Do hope he gets a fair crack at the A.C Milan lineup and doesn’t just take over the out of sight out of mind role Philippe Senderos had last season.

    Awesome move for Gooch! Hope he gets decent playing time. The experience he’ll get with AC Milan will be priceless.

    Wow that came out of nowhere. Last week hes being linked with like stoke and hull now hes at AC milan. Totally changes my perception of him, now when i look at the US team id have him as the most important player after donovan just cause having Milan beside your name is just so impressive.

    Always liked Oguchi Onyewu going back to the 2006 World Cup where he was one of the few bright spots on that U.S team. Didn’t want to mention for the 5th time how he got the shaft during his Newcastle loan stint but do think giving the chance he could make the grade in Milan.
