All John Terry has to do is in the next day or two come out and say he is Chelsea for life. Him not doing this means they might be some legs to this story. They are very few defenders worth 40 million pounds and Terry is not one of them. A mix of age and the fact he hasn’t been injured the last couple of years come into play. Bruce is also looking to bolster his striking options and is reportedly keen to sign Tottenham’s Darren Bent and Portsmouth’s Peter Crouch. (The Guardian)
Bent would be easier to get but either signing should give Sunderland a boost going into next season. While the transfer fees are different it’s better than bringing in David Healy like Roy Keane did last summer.
