Italy Announces Confederations Cup Sqaud
Italy’s Gattuso called up for Confederations Cup
AC Milan midfielder Gennaro Gattuso has been named in Italy’s Confederations Cup squad despite having missed most of the season with a knee injury.
The World Cup winner is in the 23-strong group which will travel to South Africa to take on Brazil, CONCACAF Gold Cup winners the United States and African Cup of Nations champions Egypt.
Despite missing 2009 due to injury you knew Marcelo Lippi was going to trust Gennaro Gattuso to clean up the midfield area after his 2006 World Cup performance. Interesting to note that almost half this team going to South Africa didn’t take up in Euro 2008.
