Real Madrid replace Schuster with Ramos
Former Sevilla and Tottenham Hotspur coach Juande Ramos has been handed a six-month contract at Real Madrid after the Spanish giants parted company with Bernd Schuster on Tuesday.
Only in the world of football (maybe a CEO of a bank too) can one be so over his head that he loses his job only to find a better one once he is fired. I honestly thought these Ramos rumors were some kind of joke.
Bernd Schuster didn’t inspire me as a great coach but he did lead Real Madrid to the top of La Liga last year. It’s also not his fault half his team got injured. I also love football chairmen, up until the final days there were public signs of support for Schuster and this morning the ax fell. Maybe a shake up is needed at Real Madrid where coaches tend to flow like water but the second Ramos finds himself in a jam Real Madrid will give him the ax a lot quicker then Tottenham did. The only wise decision in this move was giving Ramos only a 6 month contract.
