There could only be one choice this year. Lionel Messi time will come but no player in recent history can claim the year Cristiano Ronaldo had over the last 12 months. No need to repeat what has already been said about his achievements in the last year since its been written about many times before. Kaka had a fantastic season in 2007 winning the Ballon d’Or Ronaldo not only matched that but surpassed it with his performances for Manchester United in 2008.

    Ronaldo certainly deserves it base on last year’s performance IMO. I’m pulling for Messi next year…. Gotta love how the ball sticks to his feet through a crowd.
