EPL Week In Review November 24th

- Some weeks are memorable, last week was not one of them. Take away the Manchester City/Arsenal, Middlesbrough/Bolton, and Portsmouth/Hull contests and only 3 goals were scored in the other 6 matches. Those are goal totals you’d expect in France’s Ligue 1.

- Last time Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United were all shut out on the same day was back in 1993. Let’s hope it’s another 15 years before that occurs again.

- Last week I mentioned “Benitez cares about perception he’ll stick with Torres and Keane up front. If Benitez cares about winning he’ll partner up Torres and Kuyt in the upcoming stretch of games.” We saw how that turned out. Robbie Keane will shoulder the burden for Liverpool misfiring but it isn’t like Torres is helping out his fellow strike partner either.

- Can’t believe I’m championing Dirk Kuyt to be featured up front instead of a wide position. Last year the only thing I championed was for Dirk Kuyt to be benched.

- Have to love Wenger’s excuses at this point. To say a scoreline flattered Manchester City is insulting to a team that quite frankly outclassed Arsenal.

- William Gallas isn’t the only problem on Arsenal but he will shoulder the blame for Arsenal’s downfall this season. There are a bunch of cancers on this Arsenal team. This Gunners squad have kids who haven’t done a thing in football acting like world champions.

- The Joe Kinnear revolution moves forward with there 0-0 draw with Chelsea. Sure, the game plan was to park themselves in front of goal but it’s still up to Chelsea to break through and they couldn’t thanks to a strong performance from Fabricio Coloccini and some great saves from Shay Given.

- Manchester United had a chance to make up ground on Chelsea and Liverpool but couldn’t break through against a strong Aston Villa side. While there is no shame is drawing Aston Villa, championship sides find a way to win in that spot.

- Wigan 2 Everton 1 tomorrow with a penalty decision costing Everton the game. After the weekend results I’m owed a couple of goals when watching a match.
