EPL Gossip Friday November 21st

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger will not strip William Gallas of the captaincy following his outburst about his team-mates’ lack of courage. (The Guardian)
Or, yes he will – but not before the Gunners’ game against Manchester City on Sunday. (The Times)
Bad time for Gallas to make comments about Arsenal lacking courage. Not exactly wrong but it isn’t something a leader of a club should say publicly. Airing out dirty laundry in public isn’t the best way to set things right.
Goalkeeper Scott Carson insists there is no comparison between his mix-up with John Terry for Germany’s goal this week, and his disastrous performance against Croatia. (Various)
True, a week from now no one will remember what happen against Germany. For the rest of Carson career what happen against Croatia will be linked to him.
Capello earns £5.4m a year in his capacity as England boss, but has “lost” £1m of that converting it into Euros due to the economic crisis, in which the pound has fallen sharply against the European currency. (Daily Star)
Now Capello feels the pain most North Americans do when they have to convert dollars into Euros.
Blackburn are trying to out-muscle Wigan in the race to sign Ecuador striker Cristian Benitez. (Daily Mirror)
After breaking his leg don’t think Blackburn and Wigan will be fighting too hard over Benitez.
Alan Shearer has already selected his backroom staff, should he be offered the Newcastle job on a permanent basis. Former Newcastle midfielder Rob Lee would become Shearer’s assistant, with former coach John Carver rejoining the club. (Daily Express)
Cue the Toronto FC message boards working overtime about Carver leaving. Most would say take general manager Mo Johnson instead.
Juande Ramos, sacked at Spurs earlier in the season, wants to return to the Premier League. (The Times)
It will take many years for other EPL owners to forget about his run at Tottenham. Wouldn’t look for Ramos in the EPL anytime soon.
While Fabio Capello basks in the glow of adulation from every single British back page, former England boss Sven-Goran Eriksson is sweating over his job as Mexico coach following an away defeat to Honduras. (Various)
Wonder what the Special One will have to say about this on the weekend. Doesn’t matter who the coach of Mexico would be the end result would still be the same. Second round World Cup exit, unless they host it then its the quarter finals.
