EPL Gossip Wednesday October 15th

AC Milan are willing to offer France midfielder Yoann Gourcuff to Liverpool as part of a deal to entice Anfield defender Daniel Agger to the San Siro. Gourcuff is currently on loan to Bordeaux. (Daily Mirror)

Two nice goals by Gourcuff, one in the Champions League and a stunner against Romania in World Cup qualifying now makes Gourcuff a media darling. Rafa Benitez hasn’t fallen in love with many French players over the years and the only reason Agger were to leave Liverpool is if he forces a move away. With Martin Škrtel out injured Agger playing time will increase which should keep him happy.

Manchester United are giving a trial to ‘Little Kaka’ – 17-year-old Serbian midfielder Adem Ljajic, who plays for Partizan Belgrade. (Daily Mail)

I read this and think that the Daily Mail couldn’t find a Serbian player to dub Adem Ljajic “Little insert player here” so they went with Kaka instead.

Sporting Lisbon midfielder Miguel Veloso has ruled out a £16m move to Tottenham. (Daily Mirror)

Can’t blame Veloso for having little interest in Tottenham. I’m still not sold on Veloso being a world class player but the talent is there. Within a year or two he could have his choice of a top European team so it makes sense to wait since a team like Tottenham will always be interested.

Manager David Moyes’ new contract at Everton is worth a cool £16.5m. (Various)

Only took close to 10 months in order for this contract to be hammered out. Can’t help but think this contract delay played a part in Everton’s slow start to the season.
