EPL Gossip Wednesday October 8th

Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas has opened the door for a return to his boyhood club Barcelona after admitting it would be a dream to go back to the Nou Camp. He said: “I’ve decided to give my all to Arsenal, although next year who knows?” (Daily Mirror)

Don’t think Arsenal fans should be worried here. I’m sure Fabregas would love a return to his boyhood team at some point but the hurdles and price tag that Barcelona would have to come with means it would be an uphill task. Not to mention that Barcelona have their own world class midfielders in Xavi and Iniesta.

Hull have put an £8m price tag on Geovanni and are ready to offer the Brazisponser lian a new double-your-money £40,000-a-week deal to stay at the KC Stadium. (The Sun)

Geovanni had a pretty good early season run for Manchester City next season but faded once the weather turned cold. It will be interesting to see if Geovanni can piece it together for an entire season. Either way not a bad pickup considering he was a free transfer.

Argentina striker Carlos Tevez has been reassured his move to Manchester United will be made permanent before the end of the year. (The Sun)

Despite the 30 million pound price tag United would be foolish not too lock up Tevez permanently.

West Ham boss Gianfranco Zola has been told he must sell players before he can buy. The club was left reeling when the bank run by their owner Bjorgolfur Gudmundsson was taken over by Iceland’s government to stop the entire country’s finances from crumbling. (The Sun)

Hasn’t been a good month for the West Ham bean counters. First their shirt sponsor XL travel group goes into bankruptcy, then the Carlos Tevez verdict that went against West Ham and now this news.

Liverpool could lose Rafael Benitez, with the club’s American owners so far refusing to sanction an extension to their manager’s current deal, which now has only 18 months left to run. (Daily Mirror)

Can’t see this happening either. With Benitez guiding Liverpool to victories fans and the media aren’t focused on ownership. If Benitez goes all hell breaks loose. Besides 18 months is still along time in the grand scheme of things.
