EPL Gossip Tuesday October 7th

Tottenham are set to fire sporting director Damien Comolli, who has angered manager Juande Ramos with his transfer dealings. (The Sun)
The international break usually means changes are in store. Last month it was Kevin Keegan and Alan Curbishley who walked away from their clubs.
But Ramos has been given a personal assurance by Spurs chairman Daniel Levy that he will be given time to turn the club around. (Daily Mirror)
With Tottenham being tied into Ramos for nearly 10 million pounds over the next two years of his contact it appears that Tottenham want to give Ramos some more time before biting that bullet.
Manchester City boss Mark Hughes will make a new bid for Blackburn striker Roque Santa Cruz in the January transfer window and Werder Bremen midfielder Torsten Frings. Barcelona striker Thierry Henry is also among the targets. (Daily Express)
Roque Santa Cruz is quickly turning into this year’s version of Nicolas Anelka. Its only a matter of when, where and how much come the next transfer window.
Unsettled Stoke striker Dave Kitson is considering his future at the club after only three months at the Britannia Stadium because he is not enjoying life in the north. (Daily Mirror)
Neither are Stoke fans enjoying his performances after his near 6 million pound move from Reading this summer.
Manchester United striker Carlos Tevez is growing frustrated and mystified about why the club have not asked him to sign a permanent deal. (Daily Mail)
I’d be asking the same questions as well.
Manchester United are poised to make an £18m move for Wigan’s Honduran midfielder Wilson Palacios. (The Sun)
A couple of years ago you could of brought Wigan for £18m pounds. Despite Palacios talent that dollar figure is laughable.
Spurs’ £15m winger David Bentley is furious with Ramos because he feels his manager’s rotation policy is the reason he has been left out of Fabio Capello’s latest England squad. (Daily Express)
What did David Bentley expect. He gladly went to a team that featured similar players in Aaron Lennon, Jermaine Jenas, Luka Modrić (or Luka Moderate as some have started calling him), Giovani dos Santos, and Jamie O’Hara. Considering where Tottenham is in the standings no one is interested in hearing a player moan about his playing time.
Liverpool’s Steven Gerrard and Chelsea’s Frank Lampard will get one last chance to prove they can play together in midfield for England in Saturday’s World Cup qualifier against Kazakhstan. (various)
Guess the last six years haven’t shown that the two have a hard time (putting it mildly) playing together. Even if they play well against Kazakhstan with all due respect it’s Kazakhstan. Against the big European clubs all Gerrard and Lampard have shown is the ability to get in each others way.
Former Newcastle boss Sam Allardyce says Magpies owner Mike Ashley only ever bought the club to make money. (various)
Shocked it took til now for Sam Allardyce to get a few shots in at Mike Ashley.
