Five Quick European Football Thoughts

- For one game at least it was nice to see Barcelona return to their 2006 form. They completed outclassed Atletico Madrid who will now look to forget about that beating and try to enjoy the international break.

- Inter Milan with a 2-1 victory over Bologna. Two ways one can look at the result. The glass half full with Inter storming out to a 2-0 leading and taking all three points or the glass half empty with Inter giving up a goal to let Bologna back into the game instead of putting them away.

- Porto over comes it’s 4-0 trashing of Arsenal with a hard fought 2-1 victory over Sporting Clube de Portugal in Lisbon. Good win for the Portuguese champions as Sporting have had their number in recent meetings.

- The clock on Claudio Ranieri reign at Juventus is now ringing louder. Only so many times one can blame “bad luck” for a bad result. Palermo were full credit for those three points and it was good to see one of favorite under rated players in Fabrizio Miccoli chip in with another goal for Palermo.

- Mentioned at the start of this season that Serie A was the league I’m most looking forward too and so far they haven’t disappointed. It’s early but Lazio, Udinese, and Inter Milan are tied for the lead while Juventus and Roma not in the top half of the table.
