Bruce Arena hired as Galaxy coach
CARSON, Calif. — Former U.S. national team coach Bruce Arena was hired Monday as coach and general manager of David Beckham’s Los Angeles Galaxy, who haven’t won a game in over two months.
A team searching for redemption hires a coach looking for redemption. The genius tag that Arena liked to consider himself quickly faded after U.S.A’s pitiful performance in the last World Cup. It also didn’t help matters that Arena left the New York Red Bull after one disappointing year. The MLS has come along way since the days of Arena’s D.C United teams running through the league. Bruce Arena will need to get it right in L.A if he is to still be considered one of American’s finest coaches.
