Galaxy coach Gullit resigns; president/GM Lalas out

LOS ANGELES — Ruud Gullit has resigned as coach of the slumping Los Angeles Galaxy for personal reasons, and president/general manager Alexi Lalas also is out of a job.
It only took Gullit five months to wear out his welcome this time as the players clearly turned a deaf ear to anything Gullit had to say. As a result of that it’s general manager’s Alexi Lalas head, who went about building a football team like it’s a fantasy team. The success of that has shown by looking at the standings.
Do like the addition of former Galaxy player Cobi Jones as the interim coach. Sometimes you just have to strip it down to the basics. The players already know and respect Jones from his time there so the dark cloud of having to deal with Gullit should be lifted. That new positivity should get the Galaxy back on the right track at least for alittle while.
Ruud Gullit should go back to broadcast. It’s should be along time before another club even considers Gullit as a head coach.
