Real Madrid push on with Van der Vaart bid
Real Madrid are pushing ahead with a bid for Hamburg midfielder Rafael van der Vaart.
The figures being quoted that of a 4-6 million euro bid is almost insulting. Yes, Van der Vaart is in the last year of his contact but unless an offer of 15 million comes Hamburg’s way they should keep it.
With Van der Vaart Hamburg have a shot at the Champions League, without him they have none. The difference playing in the Champions League as suppose to the UEFA Cup would make keeping Van der Vaart a better option than selling him for such a low fee.
Porto given all-clear to play in Champions League
LAUSANNE, July 15 (Champions League) - Porto will play in the Champions League this coming season after an appeal by Benfica and Guimaraes against their reinstatement was dismissed.
That puts an end to that. Didn’t think that Porto would manage to make their way back into the Champions League but I was wrong.
