EPL Gossip for Friday July 11th

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger wants to team up Ajax striker Klaas Jan Huntelaar to replace exit-bound Emmanuel Adebayor. (Daily Star)

More than likely will say this a couple of times because this won’t be wrapped up anytime soon but Huntelaar would be a perfect fit for Arsenal style of play. Arsenal should get Dennis Bergkamp to give Huntelaar a call.

AC Milan midfielder Yoann Gourcuff is being used as bait to finance part of the cost of Adebayor. (Daily Express)

Gourcuff has already been sent out on loan to Bordeaux for the year but seems to be the type of player that Wenger wouldn’t mind working with.

Frank Lampard has left Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich stunned by rejecting a £140,000-a-week deal over four years. (Daily Star)

It’s not about money at this point. Lampard just wants to move on. This will be his 3rd coach in one year plus Deco will be the apple of Scolari eye next season.

Blackburn boss Paul Ince is ready to offer ex-Liverpool team-mate Robbie Fowler a deal if the striker, who has been offered a new one-year deal by Cardiff, can prove his fitness. (Daily Mirror)

This will have as much impact as Andy Cole’s move to Sunderland last season.

Manchester City boss Mark Hughes and Aston Villa counterpart Martin O’Neill will battle it out to try to sign Blackburn keeper Brad Friedel. (Daily Mail)

Why Blackburn is open to a Friedel transfer is beyond me. He still has another year or two left in him.

Everton are keen on Sporting Lisbon keeper Vladimir Stojkovic as back up for first choice Tim Howard. (Various)

Everton can have him if they really want him. Stojkovic made me laugh earlier this year by saying he is the best goalie in Europe in an interview.
