EPL Gossip Thursday July 10th

Arsenal midfielder Alex Hleb has agreed a four-year-deal with Barcelona and is set to sign for £15m. (The Sun)
It will be a loss for Arsenal but unlike most North American sports soccer gets it. If a player isn’t happy it’s best for all involved to cash in and move forward.
But Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will use the cash to complete a £11.5m deal for Marseille’s Samir Nasri. (The Sun)
Have a feeling that Nasri will be considered one of the transfers of the season when it’s all said and done next year.
Arsenal are thought to have bid £19m for Andrei Arshavin but his club Zenit St Petersburg want £24m. But his agent hopes a deal can be struck. (Star)
Arsenal shouldn’t pay a dime more then what they sold Hleb for. I wouldn’t rate Arshavin as a better player than Hleb.
Benitez’s transfer plans have taken a further knock after Juventus hinted they will not pay £15m for midfielder Xabi Alonso.
That could affect Liverpool’s chances of raising the cash to sign Aston Villa’s Gareth Barry. (The Sun)
Liverpool will be hard pressed to find another team willing to meet that same price tag for Alonso. They would also be hard pressed to fit Barry into the picture without letting go of Alonso.
Tottenham manager Juande Ramos is ready to offload a whole team of players – plus five substitutes. Sixteen players, including Robbie Keane and Pascal Chimbonda, could be sold as Spurs look to raise £15m to sign Blackburn’s David Bentley. (The Sun)
Tottenham better get moving. They have added players but no one has been shown the door yet and except for Chimbonda nothing looks to be close either.
Fulham are poised to complete a £6m deal for West Ham striker Bobby Zamora on Thursday. (Various)
Wouldn’t pay 6 million for Carlton Cole who is a better striker than Zamora. I doubt West Ham spent much time pondering this transfer. This transfer will help out West Ham since they won’t be spending like last year.
Middlesbrough manager Gareth Southgate insists he can lead the club into the Champions League. (The Sun)
Don’t know about that but Middlesbrough do have a youth team full of potential with the likes of Adam Johnson, Seb Hines, and Josh Walker all ones to watch out for in the future.
