Domenech To Stay With France

France coach Raymond Domenech will continue at the helm of Les Bleus despite their group exit at Euro 2008.

Article

Coaches have been fired for a lot less just ask Roberto Donadoni who at least managed to get Italy out of the group stage. Hopefully by 2010 this French team can play a style that suits their best players.

Manchester City confirm Jo as record signing

Manchester City have confirmed the signing of Brazilian striker Jo from CSKA Moscow for a ‘club record’ undisclosed fee.

Article

Provided that Manchester City doesn’t expect the world right away from Jo they will have quite a player on their hands. Besides the bar for strikers coming in during the summer transfer period is pretty low with Rolando Bianchi and Georgios Samaras the year before.

Roma Make Baptista Bid

Roma have made a €15m bid for Julio Baptista and hope to be able to conclude a deal over the next few days after arranging talks with Real Madrid.

Article

Baptista is crowded out at Madrid. The best thing for both parties is to let the player move on. If this goes through I wouldn’t be shocked to see this rank up their as one of the best transfers in Serie A at the end of next season.

Magpies complete deal for winger Gutierrez

Newcastle boss Kevin Keegan has signalled his intention to bring the thrills back to St James’ Park by making Argentina winger Jonas Gutierrez his first summer signing.

Article

Newcastle needed to make some noise in the transfer market and shockingly I’m impressed with this signing. Gutierrez will add a quality to the Magpies midfield that has been missing in recent years. But it’s still Newcastle after all so I’m sure something will end up going wrong.

Trap Pushes Keane Towards Anfield

Republic of Ireland manager Giovanni Trapattoni has urged his star charge Robbie Keane to jump on the chance to join Liverpool this summer.

Article

No offense to Trapattoni who has forgot more about this game than I will ever know but he’s only been in charge since May for Ireland. I doubt his words will carry much weight one way or another with Keane.
