Euro final gets 3.1 overnight rating on ABC

NEW YORK (AP) - Spain’s 1-0 victory over Germany in the European Championship final got a 3.1 overnight rating on ABC.

ABC must be happy drawing that number on a Sunday afternoon. Personally I think its only a matter of time before ESPN purchases the right to broadcast EPL games when that contact comes up for renewal in a couple of years.

    Im pretty sure ABC owns ESPN

    ABC/ESPN are owned by Disney. Just making the point that with the success of the 2006 World Cup and this rating that ESPN will atleast consider making a play for the EPL broadcasting rights sooner rather than later.
