I don’t understand what is holding Lampard back at this point. A move to Italy would do Lampard some good.
Arsenal could move for Valencia midfielder David Silva if as expected Alexander Hleb moves to Barcelona. (The Sun)
While Arsenal can afford Silva, it’s not Arsenal’s stance to pay top dollar so I don’t see Silva applying his trade at Arsenal anytime soon.
Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp has failed with a £9m bid for Liverpool striker Peter Crouch. (Daily Star)
Liverpool is going to take its sweet time deciding Crouch future. With a year left on his contact Liverpool will decide at some point to cash in on Crouch.
Tottenham defender Michael Dawson is a £4m target for Newcastle. (Daily Mirror)
Newcastle could do a lot worst than Dawson. He’d go along way to patch up a back line that needs a ton of work.
Spurs manager Juande Ramos will pay £8m for Seville winger Diego Capel. (The Independent)
Ramos would have to up its bid by a small amount. Capel release fee with Seville is 12 million euros. Seville will not sell any player to Ramos without him meeting the release fee.
Fulham could trade midfielder Jimmy Bullard for Middlesbrough defender Luke Young. (The Times)
Fulham would be foolish to sell or trade Bullard. Heart and soul type of player that a club like Fulham would need years to replace. Skillful from set pieces as well.
Aston Villa have had a £15m bid for David Bentley rejected by Blackburn Rovers. (Daily Mail)
Signing Bentley would go along ways into convincing Villa fans to forget about Barry. Convincing Bentley to sign for Villa is another matter altogether.

Rafa is crazy for rejecting 9 million for Crouch. I doubt he will get a higher bid, especially with only a year after his contract. Redknapp would be keen to just wait it out a year.
And Rafa said the 50 million demands are not true….though I wish it were. We could definitely use Silva and Alves, though I think Alves will end up at ManU. I’m still not so sure about Barry–that’s a lot of money for someone who turns 28 this fall.
