Former England boss Steve McClaren has been named as the new manager of Dutch club FC Twente.

Good move for McClaren. As I mentioned several moons ago in my Steve McClaren Article he should leave England behind. Moving abroad is a wise move with FC Twente having a shot of Champions League football next season.

Atletico Madrid set to land Lyon keeper Coupet

Atletico Madrid have swooped for Olympique Lyon goalkeeper Gregory Coupet.

Christian Abbiati didn’t set the world on fire while on loan from A.C Milan last season. Atletico have been signing players on the cheap this off season with Coupet, Tomáš Ujfaluši and soon to be followed by Paulo Assunção.

Portugal In Zico Talks

Former Fenerbahçe coach Zico is allegedly in talks with the Portuguese Football Federation to assume control of the squad after Euro 2008.

Oh god no, anyone but Zico. Total respect for him as a player but despite all that talent his Brazil teams never won a thing. As Dunga termed it they were professional losers. Carlos Queiroz would be perfect. Porto’s coach Jesualdo Ferreira should atleast be considered, With Paulo Bento having an outside shot. Really anyone but Zico would do.

Marseille Confirm Nasri’s Arsenal Deal

Samir Nasri is all but officially an Arsenal player after Olympique Marseille president Pape Diouf confirmed that the French international is undergoing a medical in the English capital.
