Beenhakker: Ref Webb has ended Pole hopes

Leo Beenhakker accused Howard Webb of effectively knocking Poland out of Euro 2008 with his decision to award Austria a stoppage-time penalty on Thursday night in Vienna.

Article

Austria can lay claim that they fully deserved that point. On the other hand if it was one of the glamour teams in Euro 2008 there is no way that penalty decision is given so late in the game. That type of stuff happens in the box on every free kick/corner kick.

Article

Still remember Mancini wonder goal against Lyon in the Champions League two years ago. Clearly Mancini doesn’t see eye to eye with Roma coach Luciano Spalletti. Most of it due to the fact that you never quite know which Mancini will show up game to game.

Banega came to Valencia at the worst possible time. No player could adjust well with the turmoil that was Valencia last season. It will take atleast a full year to recover from what happen last year.

Real Madrid’s Soldado welcomes Benfica interest

Real Madrid striker Roberto Soldado has declared he fancies a move to Quique Sanchez Flores’ Benfica.

Article

I would welcome it as well. The Portuguese league could use a player with the talent of Soldado. Playing at Benfica for 2-3 years before moving on would do Soldado career some good.
