EPL Gossip for Wednesday May 21st

Manchester United have made bids for French youngsters Jeremy Helan and Darnel Situ. Helan is a 15-year-old Rennes left-back, and one of the most sought after teenagers in European football, while French Under-16 captain Situ could also make the switch to Old Trafford from Lens. (Daily Mail)

Those players should stay with their current clubs. One day I’m going to get to writing an article about this however I feel it effects the balance of football having these players move on to top teams at such a young age. Within a year or two each player could feature for Rennes and Lens. While Rennes are now in Ligue 2, if Helan could crack the Lens lineup in the next 18-24 months he’ll be playing in one of the top leagues in the World.

United already have a ton of young talented players who careers are stalling such as Danny Simpson, Chris Eagles, Gerald Pique, Danny Welbeck, and Jonny Evans who can’t get a regular game.

West Ham boss Alan Curbishley is ready to sell Dean Ashton and Anton Ferdinand in a bid to fund moves for Everton striker Andrew Johnson and Newcastle defender Steven Taylor. (Daily Mirror)

Those moves will neither improve or worsen West Ham.

Fulham manager Roy Hodgson wants to bring back old boy Steve Finnan from Liverpool, who are believed to be willing to sell him for £2m. (Daily Mirror)

At that price I could see why Hodgson would want to bring in Finnan. Be a tough sell trying to get Finnan to move away from Liverpool.

Middlesbrough and Bolton are back on the trail of Sporting Lisbon striker Simon Vukcevic. (Daily Mail)

Vukcevic hasn’t put it all together yet but he is only 22 and the talent is there.

Tottenham manager Juande Ramos has targeted Real Zaragoza’s £10m-rated striker Diego Milito after failing with an audacious bid to land Barcelona striker Samuel Eto’o. (Daily Mirror)

It was only a year ago at this time Milito was Barcelona bound. Forward 12 months later Milito is currently on a team that was regulated from La Liga.

Spurs boss Ramos is also keen on Brazilian striker Luis Fabiano from his old club Seville. (Daily Mirror)

As mentioned before and I’m sure will be repeated often. Seville will not sell anyone to Tottenham. The only way Ramos gets a hold on Fabiano is if he over pays for the privilege.

Manchester City have offered £12m for Zenit St Petersburg striker Andrei Arshavin. (The Sun)

Manchester City like many of us saw Arshavin shine at the UEFA Cup finals against Rangers. Only a matter of time before Zenit were to receive transfer offers after that performance.

Manchester City have stepped up their attempt to lure Luiz Felipe Scolari to the club, with another approach to the Brazilian coach, but their £3.2m-a-year offer falls short of the £3.9m Scolari is thought to be holding out for. (Times)

Scolari isn’t holding out for anything. If Scolari didn’t take the England job back in 2006 which would of paid more then £3.9m he isn’t going to decide on Manchester City or anyplace else after his commitments to Portugal are complete.

i agree with the point about not signing kids because unless they’re phenominal talents like fabregas then they’re extremly unlikely to make the breakthrough. It looks like united are going to sell pique and make a bit of cash just like they did with rossi and i just wonder were they ever going to be given a chance or was the plan always to sell them for more than we bought them
