Parma 0 – 2 Inter

They sure didn’t make it easy for themselves but at the end of the day in awful playing conditions Inter got it done. Hard to argue that Inter wasn’t the best team in Serie A this season.

Rooney: Please Stay Ronaldo

Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney has appealed to teammate Cristiano Ronaldo to stay at Old Trafford and continue the prolific form he has shown this season.

Article

I’m not the biggest Rooney fan. Don’t get me wrong I think he is a class player. He hustles for every second of the 90 minutes and even helps out on defence when needed. I don’t think he is world class however.

Despite that I have a lot of respect for Rooney. They are no two people who seem to be total opposites like Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo. One growing up in working class Liverpool, the other in Madeira. One is a pretty boy, the other has never seen hair gel much less use it. I could go on but my point is this. Two years ago at this time Rooney was not only the face of Manchester United but he was also the face of England. A step on Ricardo Carvalho groin and a wink later Cristiano Ronaldo becomes public enemy number one in England.

It would of been easy for Rooney to dislike Ronaldo. Sometimes I am shocked that they appear to get along so well. In the last two years not only as Cristiano Ronaldo over shadowed Rooney as the face of Manchester United he has eclipsed him. Rooney has handled the transition from the vocal point of Manchester United to very much the robin to Ronaldo batman remarkably well.
