NEW YORK — FC Barcelona will tour the United States later this year, part of a five-year commercial agreement with Major League Soccer signed Thursday.
The two-time European club champion will play six games in America over the next half-decade.
It make sense for both parties. Barcelona and by extension La Liga need to get more of a foothold in the United States to combat EPL from taking over. Americans like the big time and they are few bigger then Barcelona. Have them play against the MLS all stars. Also play against teams in markets that need the boast. Hell even throw Kobe Bryant in the mix for promotional work since he is a huge Barcelona fan.
