Zenit Break Rangers’ Resistance To Lift Cup
Zenit St Petersburg 2-0 Rangers
Zenit playmaker Andrei Arshavin, the best player on the pitch, masterminded the downfall of Rangers in a tightly contested Uefa Cup final. The Glasgow side defended reolutely until the 73rd minute when Arshavin set up Denisov for the superb opener, and with the last kick of the game, Zyrianov wrapped it all up.
Rangers can’t have any complaints with regards to how this game unfolded. Zenit were the better team from beginning to end. The football pursuit must of been happy with defensive minded Rangers losing. While not pleasing to the eye a good defense deserve just as much respect as a free flowing offense.
Barcelona strike Palacios deal with Boca Juniors
Barcelona have won the race for Boca Juniors striker Rodrigo Palacios, it has been revealed.
I’ll reserve judgment on this transfer for abit if it happens. My gut feeling is that Palacios will not be key in turning Barcelona fortunes around next season.

Czech Republic was everyone sleeper pick at the last World Cup. Two years later the Czech Republic is receiving very little buzz going into Euro 2008.
Fiorentina in advanced talks for AC Milan’s £12M Gilardino
Fiorentina are closing in on a deal for AC Milan striker Alberto Gilardino.
Gilardino just never fit in at A.C Milan. If Fiorentina do make it to the Champions League Gilardino should jump at the chance to play along side Adrian Mutu.
Eto’o: I Want To Play In England
Having become fairly frustrated at Barcelona for more than one reason, Samuel Eto’o has revealed he would be delighted to play in the Premier League.
I can’t blame Eto’o for wanting out of Barcelona nor could I blame Barcelona for wanting to cash in on Eto’o at this point in his career.
