Barcelona are planning an audacious £30m bid for Arsenal’s Spanish midfielder Cesc Fabregas. The Catalan club may offer Samuel Eto’o, Deco, Eidur Gudjohnsen or former Gunner Thierry Henry in s part-exchange deal. (Daily Star)

Why in the world would they ask Gilberto? He has only been living in London for 4 months.

The only top four teams that would make sense is Chelsea as a replacement for Claude Makelele. The other three teams don’t go out of their way to buy 30 year old players.

Scolari remains tight-lipped about his future, but it appears Manchester City’s chances of capturing him to replace Sven-Goran Eriksson are slim as the Brazilian is reluctant to move away from Portugal. (Various)

Haven’t the English press learned anything from 2006. Scolari is not going to commit to anything until after Euro 2008 nor will he talk about it. Another fine example of how mainstream media fails its readers.
