Toni To Pip Ronaldo To Ballon d’Or?
There are reports in Italy that Luca Toni could be in the running to beat Cristiano Ronaldo to the Ballon d’Or, if Italy win Euro 2008.
I could see the argument being made. Considering that Ronaldo finished third to Messi in last season’s voting they is an anti Ronaldo sentiment in the voting media. A lot will depend on Manchester United winning the Champions League. If that were to occur then Ronaldo will have the inside track for the award.
Barcelona agree personal terms with Depor’s Coloccini
Barcelona have agreed personal terms with Deportivo La Coruna defender Fabricio Coloccini.
Let the re-tooling begin. Only a matter of time before another Deportivo player Andrés Guardado gets snapped up by a bigger club.
Figo: Jose Should Replace Mancini
Luis Figo has declared that he wants to carry on playing for another year, and has hinted that he would like to see Jose Mourinho replace Roberto Mancini as coach.
The chances of Figo staying at Inter are 50/50 at best. Which are also the odds on Mancini staying on as coach. Even at an advance age Inter was playing their best with Figo feeding through balls to the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimović and Júlio César at the start of the season. Ever since Figo’s injury Inter has been missing the little piece of quality in the midfield.
