EPL Gossip for Friday April 18th

Chelsea are confident of signing AC Milan’s Brazilian star Kaka for £50m. (Daily Mirror)
I’ll believe this when I see it and I don’t mean see it in a newspaper.
Arsenal want to sign Palermo’s Brazilian striker Amauri and will offer him £3.2m-a-year contract. (Daily Mail)
Amauri = Brazilian Rolando Bianchi
Dimitar Berbatov’s agent has said the Spurs striker wants to play Champions League football and several clubs are interested in him. (Daily Express)
Sell him. There is only so much whining you can stand from one player. Tottenham can cash nicely on him and use the money on other areas of the team.
Manchester United are ready to spend £90m on wages to keep Cristiano Ronaldo, Rio Ferdinand, Wes Brown and Michael Carrick at the club. (The Sun)
Michael Carrick??? really. His play for United the last two years hasn’t led me to think hey this player deserves a new contract.
Portsmouth are prepared to break their transfer record to sign Porto striker Lisandro Lopes for £12m. (Daily Mirror)
Big fan of Lisandro Lopes but he isn’t in Jermaine Defoe class and they signed him for a cheaper price. Porto would gladly sell him at that price. Looking past the transfer fee I would still stay that Lopes would be a success in England.
Liverpool could be forced to sell Fernando Torres and Ryan Babel if they fail to pay back a £35.1m loan used to help buy the pair. (The Times)
I don’t think it will get that far.
Sven Goran Eriksson insists he will remain in charge of Manchester City next season. (Daily Star)
Not the biggest fan of Eriksson. His game plan A is quite good but if a team counters that there is no plan B up his sleeve. Despite all that he has led Manchester City to a top half finish. What more could they have hoped for?
