EPL Gossip for Thursday April 17th

Chelsea boss Avram Grant has vowed to sign AC Milan’s Brazil forward Kaka – and he is also keen on Barcelona’s Argentine star Lionel Messi. (Daily Star)

I know that money talks in the end but I don’t think many players are going to go out of their way in order to pay for Avram Grant.

And keeper Carlo Cudicini wants to quit the Blues for Aston Villa. (The Sun)

He’ll be the first of a handful of players wanting out come this summer.

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has backed his manager Rafael Benitez’s bid to sign Aston Villa midfielder Gareth Barry. (The Sun)

Easy to see why. They made an effective midfield pairing in the last days of the Steve Mclaren England era.

Manchester United are ready to splash £38m on four young stars in the summer – Sporting Lisbon’s Joao Moutinho and Miguel Veloso and Wigan pair Wilson Palacios and Luis Antonio Valencia. (The Sun)

Moutinho is not ready yet. Veloso on the other hand is. I hope the sun knows that Manchester United can only field 11 players at any one given time.

Manchester City will sell Stephen Ireland to Sunderland for about £8m in the summer. (The Sun)

To expensive as is the case with most British players. Would increase the talent level at Sunderland however.

Fulham’s Diomansy Kamara is wanted by Sevilla, who will offer £5m for the midfielder. (Daily Express)

Send him on his way Fulham.

Benfica want Gordon Strachan to be their next manager and are ready to make a shock move for the Celtic boss. (Daily Mirror)

Strachan will never match up in the eyes of the Celtic faithful. Despite all he has done at Celtic Martin O’Neil still over shadows him.
