EPL Gossip for Tuesday April 8th

Liverpool are leading the chase for £8m-rated Porto right-back Jose Boswinga, with Manchester United and Aston Villa also keen on the Portugal international. (Daily Mirror)

Boswinga or Rafinha close call there. Boswinga is bigger which should make it an easy adjustment to the English game. Rafinha you can wait all summer the price will be roughly the same. If a big team can sign Boswinga now they should do it so since his price tag will sky rocket if he plays well at Euro 2008.

Chelsea are prepared to take a £30m loss to allow Ukraine striker Andriy Shevchenko to return to AC Milan. (Daily Express)

Shevchenko should move to MLS, if Chelsea are willing to let him go for next to nothing. At Milan there will be this pressure to regain his previous form. In the MLS he can rediscover the joy of playing the game without the outside pressures.

Tottenham striker Dimitar Berbatov says he would be “flattered” if AC Milan follow up their interest in taking him from White Hart Lane to the San Siro. (The Times)

Berbatov is like a high maintenance girlfriend. He should focus on scoring goals for Tottenham and if he wants to go to a bigger club then say so instead of dropping these hints all the time.

Barcelona have put striker Thierry Henry up for sale after less than a season at the Nou Camp, alerting Newcastle, Spurs, Manchester City and West Ham in the process. (Daily Star)

Henry would not return to England. I don’t even think Thierry Henry can picture himself playing for another EPL team. Much like David Beckham not returning to England since he couldn’t picture playing against Manchester United.

Newcastle boss Kevin Keegan is targeting a £6m summer move for Liverpool midfielder Jermaine Pennant. (The Sun)

A couple of days ago Pennant was about to be released now there is a 12 million dollar price on his head? Pennant is a good player, he is not worth 12 million dollars however.
