Gigli Unveils Amauri Plans
Juventus president Giovanni Cobolli Gigli declared before last night’s clash against Palermo that talks with the Sicilian club over Amauri were imminent.
Good player, won’t come cheap however. Amauri would be an ideal replace for David Trézéguet.
Grant: We Would Be Closer But For Jose’s Poor Start
Chelsea manager Avram Grant has suggested that the Blues would be closer to Manchester United now in the quest for the Premier League title if he, rather than Jose Mourinho, had been in charge from the start of the season.
Naturally he didn’t make mention that Mourinho had to deal with a back room staff fronted by Grant that had their knives pointed in his back. If Mourinho was left alone to coach this team they wouldn’t be down 2-1 against Fenerbahce. More to the point if Mourinho were to walk into Stanford Bridge in five years time he’d get a standing ovation. The same will not be said for Grant.
Barcelona’s Messi insists injury won’t change him
Lionel Messi says he’s on the way back for Barcelona.
The only question I’m asking myself is how long will it take before Messi gets hurt again. This many injuries before the age of 21 is not a good sign for the future.
Rijkaard pleads with Barcelona fans to stop booing
Barcelona coach Frank Rijkaard has urged fans to stop the booing after last night’s disappointing 0-0 draw with Getafe.
Barcelona will need to focus on the Champions League after failing to take advantage of Real Madrid’s tie on the weekend.
