Another day of football action kicks off with Arsenal and Liverpool in a rematch of there Champions League game mid week. Liverpool are still comfortable in 4th place and can take there foot of the gas in order to not give anything away for the deciding Champions League rematch next week. Arsenal need a win if they are to keep there EPL title dreams alive.

Aston Villa – Bolton

Bolton will look to somehow bounce back after losing to Arsenal. They need wins if they are to stay in the EPL next season. Villa are slumping but its hard for them to be pumped up when there is little left for them to play for.

Manchester City – Chelsea

City is looking for revenge after losing 6-0 to Chelsea earlier in the season. Would of sided with city if it wasn’t for Chelsea shock loss in the Champions League. That should serve as a reminder that Chelsea needs to play hard for 90 minutes and put teams away when they have the chance.

Fulham – Sunderland

Fulham could of gone along ways in making it a fight to stay in the EPL but giving up the lead to Derby and only drawing a tie will prove to be the death nail in there coffin. Sunderland will look for back to back road wins which should give them even more breathing room.

Newcastle United – Reading

This game will end in a draw and each team would be happy with the point.

Wigan – Birmingham

Steve Bruce taking on his former team Birmingham. The visitors will need another impressive performance by on loan striker Mauro Zarate if they look to come away with anything from this game.

Blackburn – Tottenham

Blackburn is never an easy place to play and Tottenham have mailed it in since there 4-4 tie vs Chelsea. Blackburn still has an another chance of Europe and three points would keep them in the mix.

The first FA Cup semi final also gets under way this morning with Portsmouth taking on Championship side West Brom. While they do play in the Championship West Brom have some attacking options up front so it shouldn’t be a boring play 10 behind the ball type of game. Once it gets going both teams will look to attack.

Looking at Germany, Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich don’t play until Sunday which gives Hamburg a chance to gain some ground even if it is for 24 hours against last years champions Stuttgart.

Only two games today in Spain however the late game will see league leaders Real Madrid travel to Mallorca. Real has a comfortable 6 point lead over Villarreal and are up seven points over Barcelona. Grabbing points on the road will go along way in wrapping out the championship for the second year in a row.

In Serie A Roma will look to do what they couldn’t do last weekend vs Cagliari and that is win as they face off against Genoa. A.C Milan will be looking to do something far too often for them which is rebound from a loss with a win as they face the previously mentioned Cagliari.

Wrapping it up with a quick look towards Portugal as 2 time champions Porto look to wrap up the league in style as they face Estrela Amadora. If Benfica and Sporting don’t make a splash in the summer transfer Porto could become the Lyon of Portuguese football.
