EPL Gossip for Wednesday April 2nd

Blackburn manager Mark Hughes said he will fight to keep David Bentley at the club. (The Sun)

David Bentley must be humming the song tempted by the fruit of another daily since he is making noises about moving. If Blackburn don’t end up playing in Europe next season which looks likely, Bentley will then look elsewhere.

Birmingham striker Mauro Zarate may have his dreams of a permanent move to St Andrew’s scuppered by the Qatari royal family. (The Sun)

All a bunch of posturing. Zarate is not going to come easy nor would he come cheap. This is just the game within the game being played.

Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate has said Tuncay is not for sale. (Daily Star)

For a team such as Middlesbrough every player has a price. Another example of the game being played since Turkey’s big two teams Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray are interested.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger says Juventus do not want to sign midfielder Mathieu Flamini. (Daily Mirror)

Arsenal fans have to be getting nervous about Flamini who hasn’t signed his new deal yet.

Chelsea are trying to negotiate a £6m deal for Boca Juniors striker Rodrigo Palacio. (Daily Mirror)

Chelsea would be foolish to sign Palacio. He is no better then Claudio Pizarro. At 26 years of age he will be hard pressed to adapt his style to the demands of the English game. If Boca receives this offer they would sign off on it in a heartbeat. Don’t look for it to happen mind you.
