In an all England match up Liverpool travel to the Emirates where they will go up against Arsenal. Both teams will get to know each other quite well over the coming days as sandwiched between there Champions League contest they will also play each other in the EPL.
Liverpool are coming into this match fresh off a 1-0 victory against cross town rivals Everton and Arsenal have to be coming into this contest in high spirits after there impressive come from behind 3-2 victory over Bolton.
Against Everton Rafa Benitez played a cagey game. Once Liverpool where up they soaked up the pressure and handled it with relative ease. Don’t look for Benitez to follow the same game plan twice in a row. Liverpool should come into this game looking to go on the attack.
Arsenal only play one way, while the parts may change the focus on one touch beautiful football does not. Arsene Wenger will look to get the upper hand against last year’s Champions League finalist.
While Javier Mascherano is suspend in the EPL he is available to play against Arsenal in the Champions League. Defenders Alvaro Arbeloa and Fabio Aurelio should also find there way back to the lineup after returning from injury.
For Arsenal Abou Diaby is in the same spot as Mascherano regarding his red card last weekend and Emmanuel Adebayor should make his way back to the Arsenal starting lineup.
In the last quarter final match Fenerbahce will take on Chelsea. Many people left Fenerbahce for dead when Sevilla jumped out to a 2-0 lead last month but to there credit Fenerbahce fought back and moved on thanks to penalties.
Brazilian world cup winner Roberto Carlos is likely to start the game on the bench for Fenerbache while Chelsea will be without all world goalie Petr Cech.
Frank Lampard should make his return to the lineup after sitting out during the weekend with illness.
This game should not be considered a walk through for Chelsea as the Fenerbahce crowd support are one of the most feverish in all of Europe.
